Thanks to the wonderful holidays we had, it completely slipped my mind that some patterns of mine were due for publication. Knit Picks released two new collection a short while back and I'm happy to tell you that I've got patterns in both of them. Woohoo!!!
The first one, called Garter Ridge, is a collection of 8 garments and accessories patterns highlighting the beauty of garter stitch. My contribution is the Helianthus Shawl

A shawl, knit entirely in garter stitch and in one piece. So there's no pickung up stitches and no joining yarn more often thann necessary and you've got only the few ends to weave in, you always have when working with three different colours.

Helianthus aka sunflower (from the Greek word Helios = sun and anthos = flower) with the individual petals remind me of said flower and worked in the right colours it's certainly a project to brighten even the dullest of autmn days.
The sample shown was knit in Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal Fingering in the colourways Anemone, Goldfish and Canary.

The second collection, Under 200, features 28 quick projects that need no more than 200 g of yarn. There's shawls, hats, mitts, cowls, a bag and toys and so much more. Perfect for a quick gift or to do some seriously stash-busting.
I've got two patterns in this collection. :) First, there are the Structured Slippers

They are knit in modules, some parts in the round and some parts flat, and they are sure good to keep your feet toasty on cold days. The sample was knit in Swish Worsted Yarn in colourway Lost Lake Heather.
My second pattern is the Zigzagging Hat and Mitts set. They are knit mainly in ribbing to give them a snug yet comfortable fit , while the zigzagging lace pattern used on both items adds a bit of interest, not only while knitting.

The yarn used, Knit Picks Gloss DK in colourway Masala, blend of merino and silk, which makes the set the most comfy winter accessory.
Now, back to my holiday brain... today my copy of the books arrived and it came as a surprise that the Zigzagging set made the cover. Woohoo again!

I think that's more than reason enough to drink to a fab October, don't you think?
