I don't go wild with Christmas decoration, but there are always a few selected things around the house to get us into the right Christmas spirit. Usually I put them up in the week before the first Advent Sunday and this year was no exception, so that's what my limited time for stuff was spent with in the past few days. My favourite decoration are these fir branches in our hall.

Not only do I like the scent of the fir branches, but these are used for handmade ornaments I received from my friends all over the world.

Snowman and snowwoman, which find their way here from Pennsylvania, an adorable gnom from California, a tiny stocking from the UK... each eand every ornament tells a story and reminds me of the wonderful people I met thanks to the Ravelry forum. Knowing one of my friends crafted them for me, makes each and every one all the more special.

One I've received a couple of years ago and it is still intact...

... so obviously my yarn stash is big enough so that there hasn't been an emergency yet, lol. I just love the cute idea, what a perfect gift for a knitter.
So happy with my collection and I'm looking forward to exchanging some more with my crafting friends in the future.
Oh, and in case you wonder what all the packages under the branches are: these are my advent calendar gifts from a swap we are having in our Ravelry group. There was even one 'open right away' package and my very first gift was fantastic already

Yummy crackers (actually my favourite cheese crackers ever) and yummy yarn... The Pucky Knitter in absolute 'me colours'. Drool. Can't wait for December to start to see what'll be in all the other packages tempting me whenever I walk through our hall.
