In the last couple of years it became kind of a 'tradition' to visit the Handmade exhibition in Bielefeld, a town about an hour away from where we live. It's an exhibition for all kinds of crafts, so not exactely the perfect one for a yarnlover, but then, what better way is there to fight the winter blues than looking at beautiful handcrafted stuff and colourful supplies? And of course, there are a few stalls selling yarn... Wanna walk around with me?

The exhibition takes place in Bielefeld's municipal hall and it's actually two seperate halls, connected by a gallery. Here's a few into the main hall with all the stalls. Luckily it isn't as crowded as it was in past years in this picture, so you can see one reason I love to go there again and again right in front: Ponderosa Yarns. Really one of my favourite German indie dyers.

There were severals stalls with beautiful beads and kits of all kinds. I really liked these armlets, but was honest with myself... I'd never get around to make one of them, so I stuck to admiring them.

Adorable shawl pins - impossible to resist even for me who hardly ever wears a shawl. But hey, one of these makes a lovely gift, don't you think?

The cutest dolls and figures made from felt; I admire them every year we go to the exhibition. And after buying a kit a couple of years ago and the trouble I had assembling the fairy, it's now easy to resist to buy anything. ;-)

And more yarn, this one Drachenwolle, and I might have made a purchase at this stall...

There were lots of stalls offering fabrics and sewing supplies... very tempting... but my fabric stash is almost as big as my yarn one and I haven't touched my sewing machine in quite a while... so it was 'look, touch, walk on'. But I would love to have on of these huge glasses filled with buttons - aren't they the perfect decoration?

One of my favourite stalls every year: Der Schraubenfigurmacher, metal art made from screws and nuts and such stuff. So special. Well, this year for the first time...

... I made a purchase and came home with this cute cat. Despite the fact that I try to stay away from dust collectors, ahem. And of course a bit of yarn had to come home with me too: blue coordinating skeins from Drachenwolle. Now to put on my thinking caps to figure out what the yarn wants to be...
