Wolf Mitts

Why is it that birthdays just like x-mas always seem to come all of a sudden? Only last week it occurred to me that UIli's b-day was approaching fast... and although we've decided a couple of years ago that we rather spend our money on holidays or events we want to go to, there should be always a little something to unwrap. But what? Fortunately for me, Ulli lost one of his favourite mitts last winter and he had asked me several times to knit a new one (note: he wanted me to knit one mitt to go with the worn one he still had - as if that ever was going to happen...), so a new pair of mitts it was. I wanted them to go with his favourite scarf, the Wolves scarf (pattern available on Ravelry), but there wasn't much time and I couldn't come up with a nice wolf motif, so I went with this one, Siberian Husky. Looks close enough to a wolf to me (really, if I had told you it's a wolf you would have believed it, wouldn't you?) and I used the motif on the back of the hand and made up a paws pattern for the palm and then had a bit of speed knitting to do. But they were done in time and best of all, Ulli loves them. :)

A day without knitting is like a day without sunshine.
